Chief Operating Officer Services Required at an SME (Lagos)

Chief Operating Officer
Chief Operating Officer requires (3years contract, renewable)
A medium Scale start-up business in Hospital/Catering and Agro-allied production, processing and sales require:

A mature, multi-skilled Business, Operations Manager with practical and commercial knowledge in the company’s core business areas. Experienced candidates above 40 years of age will be favourably considered.
He or she will take charge of overall operations management for 5 start-up-business units, each with its own Business Unit Manager, all Business Unit Managers will report to this chief Operating Officer (COO)

Specifically, the C.O.O. will be Responsible for the following
i.                     Routine supervision of the activities of each business unity
ii.                   Ensure that all units and their managers deliver their business mandates to the highest commercial standards.
iii.                  Ensuring effective monitoring and quality control of Units’ Operations.
iv.                 Providing strong and performance enhancing leadership to the support teams-finance, Purchasing, Admin, logistics, Occupational Safety, Security and health Matters, Including ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and environmental care in all the company’s location and operations.

The C.O.O will have the following qualifications and attributes:
a.       A strong enterprise mindset
b.      Relevant formal qualifications in business management, finance, SME management, or any relevant academic qualifications; or a minimum of 15 years HNADS on experience in all or some areas of the company’s business.
c.       Very high level of honesty, integrity and commitment to the company’s goals.
d.      Strong capacity for sound operational decision-making and decision-taking on a regular basis.
e.       Willingness/capacity to ensure maximum information flow across the business as/when relevant for optimizing operations and performance of the business units and managers.
f.        Ability to make people and resources (time, finances, other), inspire team-work across company operations, initiate and maintain good working relations with clienst/customers and other stakeholders of the business
g.       Computer literacy, especially in excel, power point and similar will be a clear advantage.

Note
                                 i.            The chief operating Officer will report to the chairman and Directors of the company.
                               ii.            Remuneration package will be commensurate with the experience and profile of candidates
                              iii.            Company’s activities are based in Lagos (across Yaba, Ikeja and Ikoprodu).
